Downie has a Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master's degree in Speech Pathology from Texas Woman's University. Her areas of specialized interest include severe articulation and language deficits, early childhood feeding issues, and social pragmatic deficits associated with various diagnoses. She completed training in the Sequential-Oral-Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding and is a Computer Based Intervention specialist. She is also an Interactive Metronome provider.
Downie is a member of the American Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology & Audiology and is a member of the Texas Speech Language Hearing Association Private Practice Task Force. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association and is a recipient of the ASHA ACE award. Prior to starting A Therapy Connection, Downie served as therapy director for a Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility. She has worked with the pediatric population since 1995.
Traci has a Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from Texas Tech University and a Master's degree in Speech Pathology from Texas Woman's University. She has treated children with a variety of diagnoses and disorders throughout her career. Her true passion is for articulation disorders, fluency, and childhood feeding issues. She is trained in the Sequential-Oral-Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding and is an Interactive Metronome provider.
Traci hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association and is a member of the Texas Speech Language Hearing Association. Prior to becoming a partner at A Therapy Connection, Traci served as a staff therapist with ATC and previously at a CORF in the Dallas Metroplex. She has spent her career providing exceptional care to children.
Rachel has a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Baylor University, and a Master's degree in Communication Disorders from The University of Texas at Dallas. She completed her Clinical Fellowship with A Therapy Connection and has been with the company ever since.
Rachel finds the relationships she builds with her patients and their families to be the most rewarding aspect of her job. She has enjoyed each population she has treated but has a special place in her heart for the children she helps advance from minimally-verbal to fully communicative.
Christy is a Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) certified occupational therapist who specializes in the pediatric population. She has experience with a variety of disorders including, but not limited to autism spectrum, sensory integration, cerebral palsy, ADD/ADHD, mental retardation, and developmental delay. She is also trained in Interactive Metronome, Therapeutic Listening, and the Alert Program.
Robin has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. She has experience in Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy and Craniosacral Therapy I. Her area of interest is within the pediatric population, working with a variety of disorders including sensory dysfunction, autism, developmental delay, Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.
Amanda is a Licensed Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, with an Associates of Applied Science from Panola College, and an Associates of Arts from Kilgore College. She is passionate about working with the pediatric population. She has experience with a variety of disorders such as Down Syndrome, ADD/ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Sensory Dysfunction, Developmental Delays, and the autism spectrum. She will be treating patients at the Richardson/Dallas and Waco clinics.
Holli has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication and Science Disorders from Baylor University. She has treated children with a broad variety of delays and disorders, and has specialized training in the area of Life Skills development. She has followed individualized treatment plans for children with autism spectrum disorders, apraxia, fluency, language, articulation, pragmatic, and voice disorders as well as treatment plans that address cognition and motor planning.
